Our client is seeking a General Manager – Corporate Services & Growth to join their team and will be responsible for leading corporate service operations while driving sales, marketing, and business development initiatives. This role will ensure operational efficiency, increase revenue, and enhance customer service across all four Partner divisions. The successful candidate will balance direct team management with strategic leadership to foster collaboration and alignment across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
1. Leadership & Strategic Growth
- Provide strategic direction to the corporate services team, aligning operations with business objectives and revenue growth targets.
- Foster collaboration and trust between corporate services and Partner divisions, ensuring seamless integration and efficiency.
- Identify and develop new business opportunities to expand market presence and increase profitability.
- Implement continuous improvement initiatives in Marketing, Sales, Administration, and Field Services to enhance operational performance.
- Promote brand awareness and customer service excellence as a core organizational value.
2. Sales & Marketing Leadership
- Collaborate with the VP of Sales to define and execute sales and marketing strategies for continuous revenue growth.
- Mentor and develop sales leadership, ensuring clear objectives and tactical execution of initiatives.
- Identify emerging customer segments and provide strategic guidance to the sales team to capitalize on market opportunities.
- Oversee marketing initiatives, ensuring brand consistency and leveraging digital strategies for lead generation.
- Work with Business Partners to create tailored sales strategies that align with their customer bases.
- Identify and implement initiatives to expand market reach and drive revenue.
- Ensure the sales team meets or exceeds annual targets to support business growth.
3. Operational Excellence & Business Partner Support
- Oversee corporate shared services, including Administration, Bid Center, Purchasing, Warehouse Management, Training, Safety Compliance, Technology, and Customer Support.
- Ensure Business Partners receive the necessary administrative support to optimize field service operations.
- Establish and enforce service-level expectations across corporate and divisional operations.
- Develop and monitor customer satisfaction metrics to drive continuous improvement in service delivery.
- Develop KPIs and reporting systems to track efficiency, improvements, and profitability.
4. Customer Service & Soft Skills Development
- Cultivate a company-wide culture focused on delivering exceptional customer service.
- Develop training programs to enhance the soft skills of corporate and field service teams.
- Work with divisional leadership to implement customer engagement strategies.
- Establish a system for gathering and acting on customer feedback to drive service excellence.
- Unify corporate and divisional efforts for consistent, high-quality service.
5. Succession Planning & Team Development
- Build and mentor a high-performing corporate services team to ensure long-term business sustainability.
- Develop leadership programs to strengthen supervisory capabilities across corporate and divisional teams.
- Implement training programs to enhance interpersonal and customer engagement capabilities.
6. Stakeholder & Relationship Management
- Serve as a liaison between corporate shared services and Partner divisions to ensure open communication and collaboration.
- Represent corporate leadership in key discussions with divisions and clients.
- Mediate and resolve conflicts between corporate and divisional teams as necessary.
- Strengthen alignment between corporate services and Partner divisions, reinforcing the company’s Vision, Mission, and Values.
The ideal candidate for the General Manager role will hold a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Management, or a related field. They will bring over 15 years of progressive experience in leadership roles, with a strong focus on corporate services, sales, and operations management. A proven track record of driving business growth, revenue expansion, and operational improvements is essential. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong leadership and team development skills, with the ability to inspire and align teams across various departments. Excellent communication, negotiation, and conflict resolution abilities are required, along with experience in strategic planning, stakeholder engagement, and customer service enhancement. Additionally, experience working with multi-stakeholder organizations is highly valued. This role demands a strategic thinker with a results-driven approach, strong interpersonal and relationship-building abilities, and an analytical mindset with problem-solving capabilities.
