HR Generalist Ottawa

Working with a team of over 250 Full-time employees, top contractors, and professionals, we have built more than 8,000 Tarion certified homes, 4,000 condominiums and several retirement homes totaling 500 suites. With tremendous growth through the housing boom, our client is needs help in their HR department.
The Role of the HR Generalist reports into a strong and experienced Manager, Human Resources. You will be hands on involved in all areas of the HR process, including payroll. You will help executive efficiency in the team and help build and HR platform that can be provided across the organization and within multiple sub-entities. Your role will be to support the recruitment process by posting jobs, pre-screening candidate, and coordinating interviews. Onboarding and offboarding employees and ensuring all HR files are maintained will be expected. You will gain experience with training new hires, administering the corporate benefit plan, and encouraging a strong corporate culture with staff events. HR research, analytics and reporting will be needed as new programs are initiated. The HR Generalist will be required to tend to various sites, and work with both unionized and non-unionized workforces. You will be required to manage the HR portfolio for 5-9 different sites with unique HR issues. You won’t be afraid to get involved and work with the General Managers on site.
The ideal candidate will bring post-secondary education in human resources and a minimum of 4 years of HR experience. You will be able to showcase your ability to run with the operational and transactional side of the HR function. You will know how to navigate within a busy HR function and excel at juggling tasks. Proven experience with online recruitment and creative talent acquisition strategies combined with stellar written communication skills, to write descriptions, is expected. Your history of engaging employees from onboarding to offboarding is going to be capitalized on, and your amazing attention to detail will take you a long way. Technical proficiency is required for learning new HRIS and DayForce systems as well as knowledge of Ontario ESA will be needed. As HR will be a shared service among multiple entities, and a workforce close to 300 staff, any experience with multi-site organizations, health & safety and unionized environments would be a tremendous asset.
