Our client is a well funded NGO with a mandate to accelerate the transition to a carbon neutral capital. With a robust endowment fund from the federal government and strong support to help transition and scale low-carbon solutions by providing grants, research, impact investment, and advocacy & awareness. Working with hot topic projects such as affordable housing and energy resilience, our client is vested at investing in organizations to build tangible differences in our community. As an incubator organization, our client is poised to gain charity status in 2024. Supported by a world-class board of directors and advisory board, our client brings the best of a start up organization to a charitable entity with a meaningful cause.

 

We have an immediate opening for a Manager – Program & Operations, to support the Executive Director in the day-to-day operational management and program development. We are looking for someone who can take a lead role in ensuring smooth execution of corporate services and project management.

Responsibilities would include:

  • Assist with the development and implementation of the operational plan
  • Oversee relationships with contractors, vendors, and service providers that support back office functions such as IT, insurance providers, benefits, office space and legal services.
  • Coordinate the administrative duties and tasks required, such as inventory management, scheduling etc.
  • Help develop and implement organizational policies and procedures to achieve a best in class operations
  • Manage the corporate filing systems and ensure efficiency and audit compliance
  • Track and report data for funders and corporate partners
  • Cultivate opportunity for programs, grants and direct investment
  • Research and stay current on policy or economic impact on programs and projects
  • Contribute to program development, implementation and evaluation
  • Review grants and contributions and evaluate fund allocation and report to stakeholders
  • Collaborate and contribute to the communications plan for new initiatives          

 

The Ideal Candidate will possess over 7 years of comprehensive experience, including a minimum of 3 years dedicated to operational management within the non-profit sphere. We seek a versatile professional, boasting a rich tapestry of skills spanning diverse professional arenas. Your proven prowess lies in cultivating external partnerships while fostering internal cohesion among team members. Proficiency in corporate governance, board facilitation and volunteer engagement is essential. Your expertise aligns seamlessly with the corporate commitment to low-carbon solutions, encompassing a deep understanding of relevant policies, technologies, and investment strategies.

Experience with decarbonization or enhancing energy efficiency within the building sector is highly valued. Familiarity with Ottawa, coupled with a background in climate change or insight into local housing, real estate or urban planning dynamics will be advantageous.

  • A creative and entrepreneurial mindset to help build and grow the investment portfolio
