Our client is a leading provider of motor repair and industrial solutions across Eastern Ontario, serving a diverse range of industries. Specializing in repairs and maintenance for motors of all sizes, from small fractional horsepower units to large 1,000 horsepower motors, our client’s services include motor overhauls, rewinds, redesigns, winding confirmation, core loss testing, and more. With an in-house machine shop, they offer dynamic balancing, control panel building, and off-site vibration analysis. Additionally, our client maintains a wholesale inventory of electric motors and motor controls, allowing us to serve as a complete sales and service center.
With locations in both Cornwall and Ottawa, our client is seeking a Branch Manager to lead their team in the Ottawa area.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee budget management and ensure effective purchasing procedures.
- Drive sales growth and profitability, ensuring all personnel align with company goals.
- Equip team members with the necessary tools, information, and knowledge to effectively serve clients.
- Collaborate with the shop foreman to implement training based on business needs.
- Approve accounts payable, review pricing, and maintain proper margins on all sales.
- Handle quoting, scheduling, and team management.
- Maintain safe working practices and serve on the safety committee.
- Manage hiring and carry out supervisory responsibilities as per company policies.
- Meet with key clients to sustain existing relationships and develop new accounts.
- Resolve overdue accounts with the office manager, ensuring high customer service standards.
- Provide guidance and leadership to all team members.
The ideal candidate will be available to start in November or December, as the current Branch Manager will retire in February. They should have experience in commercial HVAC, electrical distribution, or generator repair and be proficient in ERP systems. Strong service and business knowledge is essential, especially in scheduling, quoting, and workflow management. The candidate should possess excellent leadership and organizational skills to keep the team on track and, ideally, be bilingual (French & English), with at least five years of relevant experience.
