They are seeking a Senior Manager – Procurement to report to the SVP of Global Procurement and Development.
The Senior Manager, EPC Procurement will be responsible for leading strategic supplier relationships with the organization’s largest EPC suppliers and fostering collaboration with internal clients to ensure the successful execution of projects. This role is pivotal in managing our EPC relationships and collaborating with our portfolio companies to secure strategic supply agreements. Reporting to the SVP, the Senior Manager, EPC Procurement will be a proven leader who can help deliver and execute the global strategy and vision
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage EPC Partnerships: Establish and nurture strong partnerships with EPC contractors specializing in solar, wind, and Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects, ensuring cost-effective and high-quality procurement solutions.
- Optimize Strategic Sourcing: Work closely with portfolio companies to pinpoint and capitalize on strategic sourcing opportunities, aligning procurement strategies with overarching business objectives to maximize value.
- Facilitate Cross-Organizational Coordination: Act as a liaison between the corporate office and its portfolio companies, ensuring seamless alignment in procurement initiatives. Assist new portfolio companies in shaping and refining their internal EPC procurement frameworks.
- Develop Procurement Strategies: Design and implement forward-thinking procurement strategies that support long-term corporate objectives, with a focus on innovation, cost efficiency, and sustainability.
- Lead Contract Negotiations: Oversee negotiations for major EPC contracts, securing terms that meet corporate requirements and drive favorable outcomes.
- Assess Supplier Performance: Monitor and evaluate supplier performance to ensure adherence to quality benchmarks, cost expectations, and project deadlines.
- Stay Informed on Market Trends: Conduct ongoing market research to track industry developments, identify emerging opportunities, and mitigate potential risks.
- Leverage Data-Driven Insights: Establish and maintain key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess procurement efficiency, optimize costs, and enhance operational effectiveness.
The ideal candidate for the Senior Manager – EPC Procurement position will possess strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to manage complex procurement projects while driving cost savings and operational efficiencies. A deep working knowledge of the US renewable energy EPC landscape is essential, and familiarity with EPC markets outside of the US is a valuable asset. The candidate should have extensive experience in procurement contracts, particularly in negotiating EPC agreements, and a strong understanding of procurement processes, supplier management, and contract law. An understanding of ITC and PTC tax credits is considered an asset. In addition to these technical competencies, the ideal candidate will have exceptional stakeholder management skills, with a proven track record of developing and executing successful EPC procurement strategies. The candidate should also possess at least 10 years of procurement experience, with a minimum of 3 years in the renewable energy sector, specifically focused on EPC utility-scale development projects. A university degree or college diploma in Procurement/Supply Chain, Engineering, Business, or Project Management is required, and professional designations such as PMP, P. Eng, or a recognized Supply Chain Certification are considered assets. Relocation will be considered. Candidate must be willing to go on site in Ottawa / Gatineau, Toronto or New York City and meet the legal requirements and work permit requirements for those location.

- 10+ years in a complex procurement team, with a minimum of 4 years in a leadership role

- Proven ability to cultivate relationships with external vendors and internal stakeholders
- Proficient with RFP, RFQ and RFI bidding processes
- Thorough understanding of North American energy markets
